Small on purpose.

Hi, I’m Ben. Small Software Co. is my one-person software company. I design, build, and operate a portfolio of focused software products. And I answer the support email too.

Each product solves one specific problem for one specific kind of customer. They remain independent rather than becoming parts of a larger platform, but behind the scenes they share the systems and lessons that make a small portfolio possible to run.

Staying small is the strategy, not a phase to grow out of. It keeps the person making product decisions close to the people using the product. It means fewer handoffs, lower costs, faster fixes, and the freedom to say no when another feature would make a tool worse at its one job.

The larger experiment is whether building and operating small software can become repeatable: take a useful idea to meaningful recurring revenue, learn what made it work, and do it again without sacrificing the products already running.
